BDRecords founded in 1973, and based in Oakland, CA is an Independent record label. Focusing on local Bay Area Talent. Now owned by Crenshaw and Dyson Films. The first release on the BDRecord label was Marvin Holmes and Justice, formally Marvin Holmes and The Uptights, with MCA Records, and such hits as The Funky Mule and Ooh Ooh The Dragon. Other artists that signed with BDRecords were Dorothy Morrison, Faye Marshall and John Turk and The Third Street Annex Band. We have been specializing in musicians/singers/songwriters and releases from artists that create their own music, for almost 40 years.
